Archa - Workshop Leader

“From my earliest family life, through growing up, working with disadvantaged children in Africa, as a terminal care nurse in London, through my years with my spiritual teacher in India though to becoming a mother myself, the key understanding I gained was that it is secrecy and lies that brings pain—that bringing things out into the light is the best, maybe the only way to deal with them with all the creativity, aliveness and courage that humans are born with.

Often, unless forced by circumstances to deal with it, we bundle Death away into some corner of our mind and try not to think about it. What I do in my workshops is encourage people to bring death out of its dark corner to where it belongs, to the centre of our life, the canvas on which all the bright patterns of our life are painted.”

Archa is a trained cancer nurse and has been profoundly influenced by her experience of working with dying patients and seeing that the way we live is the way we die. She now works as a successful artist, exhibiting here and in the USA with her husband Sans and sister Yatri. She also gives individual sessions in body-work and mediation. She is known for her warm down-to-earth heart that supports her wisdom and understanding of this magical process called death

Vimlan   trains people to become Life Coaches, to find their true inspiration and to live from that. He is an experienced meditator and meditation teacher and found Archa’s vision so inspiring that he joined the team

Sans is a father, artist, lover of nature and meditator of 35years
.“Life seems to be moments of opposites. Ups and downs,
happy and sad, living and dying, There seems to be no end to life, only a continuity of moments. This moment, this moment, this moment. Relaxing into life, seems to be the way to relax into death”.
Sans is a successful artist running workshops here and in the USA teaching meditation and creativity. He also runs
vipassana retreats with walking and creativity.

John  Project Manager
“When Archa told me she had a workshop emerging on the theme of death I said book me a place.”
Not just because I trusted her integrity but because I’ve realised there is very little out there that encourages consciousness of the fact that we’re going to die. Especially
work that does it in such a truly life affirming and positive way. Even when talking about this workshop it is hard sometimes to let it be seen as a fantastic opportunity to wake up and not as some nightmare to be avoided for most, if not all, of our lives. I found it the most beautiful, awakening, enlivening, touching group that I’d done.

John is a qualified and experienced teacher with a proven track record in developing and delivering pioneering curricula. John’s experience also includes representing developing projects. His vision is that this workshop becomes de rigueur. “It’s a gift for the world of our times and I have a commitment to making it accessible to as many people as possible.”
